Sacramento County sheriff’s detectives are looking for a suspect who reportedly kidnapped a girl from a Carmichael residence Sunday morning and later released her.
The incident occurred about 3 a.m. in the 5000 block of Adelaide Way. The man entered a residence through an unlocked door and removed a girl younger than 10 years old against her will, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. The youngster was taken to a nearby wooded area and released without further incident, officials said. The girl was able to return home without serious injury.
The suspect is described a white, in his late teens to early 20s, 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing 120 to 160 pounds. He has short brown hair, combed back, and dark brown eyes. He reportedly was clean shaven with “healing” acne marks, and was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information regarding the incident, or who recognizes the suspect from a composite sketch, is asked to call sheriff’s detectives at (916) 874-5115. Tips also may be left on the Sheriff’s Department website, www.sacsheriff.com, by text to 274637 and entering the keyword SSD, or at (916) 874-8477.
