Sacramento County sheriff’s officials have released photos and video of a vehicle sought in connection with an Oct. 22 home invasion robbery and homicide at a Walnut Grove residence.
Thomas Rehberg, 40, was fatally shot at the home in the 14200 block of River Road.
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence about 10:30 a.m. in response to a 911 call stating that someone had been shot. Sheriff’s deputies and fire personnel found Rehberg, who had gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rehberg was among three occupants at the residence during the shooting. The surviving victims told investigators that two men they did not know knocked on the front door. When the door was opened, the men pushed their way into the residence and tied up the victims. At some point during the robbery, Rehberg was shot, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.
The intruders fled in a 2000 to 2005 white Chevrolet Tahoe. The men reportedly were wearing construction work crew-style orange vests, white helmets and construction-style work boots.
One man was described as black, in his late 40s to early 50s, 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 4 inches tall, with short hair or bald, with sideburns and a goatee.
The second man was described as black, in his mid-30s to early 40s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build, dark hair and a mustache.
A third individual was described as a man of mixed race, with medium color skin, in his late 20s to early 30s, with dark brown hair. He was reported wearing a neon-colored shirt.
