The report said officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near Mack Road and Center Parkway at 10:19 p.m. Saturday when the suspect allegedly sped away in the car.
Following a short pursuit, Stevens crashed the stolen car and fled on foot to the rear of a south Sacramento home, the report said. He forcibly entered a rear door and fired a shot from a handgun, according to the report. Once inside the home, the report said, the man confronted the resident, demanded keys to the resident’s vehicle and fled again by car.
