Roseville police are looking to reunite stolen items, including military service medals, with their owners after an arrest and recovery of property.
About 3 a.m. Saturday, police received a report of a suspicious man loitering in a driveway next to a parked car in the 1400 block of Tiffany Circle. An officer arrived and searched the man’s vehicle. The search turned up a laptop computer and paperwork belonging to someone who had accidentally left his car unlocked that night, according to a Police Department news release. Other items suspected of being stolen also were found.
Officers returned the laptop and paperwork to the victim and took the other items for safekeeping until their owners could be identified.
Darrell Sean Bewley, 32, of Newcastle was arrested on suspicion of grand theft, possession of burglar’s tools and stolen property, and prowling on private property.
Police said the officer found military service medals and collector’s coins in Bewley’s car. Anyone who recently had such items stolen and can describe them can call Detective Chris Uribe at 916-746-1086.
