Sacramento police are investigating a shooting in the Oak Park area that left one man wounded Tuesday morning.
Police received a report of the sound of gunshots in the area of San Jose Way and Santa Rosa Avenue at 11:17 a.m., said Officer Matthew McPhail, police spokesman.
When officers arrived, they saw damage to a vehicle and residence that appeared to have been caused by gunfire but found no victim.
While they were at the scene, the officers were notified that a man had been transported in a private vehicle and was being treated for a gunshot wound at a local hospital. McPhail said the injury was not believed to be life-threatening. The victim was described as a man in his 30s.
Officers have been interviewing the victim and people in the neighborhood. McPhail said no information was available regarding the motive for the shooting.
