Smithsonian Magazine’s “Museum Day Live!” provides an opportunity to sample any of hundreds of venues across the country for free. The intent is to encourage residents to become acqauinted with a community’s wealth of fine art, history, science and wildlife treasures.
This year six Sacramento attractions are participating: Aerospace Museum of California, California Automobile Museum, California State Military Museum, California State Railroad Museum, Maidu Museum & Historic Site and The California Museum.
To particpate all you do is show your Museum Day ticket, which you download for free at the Smithsonian website. Tickets are limited to one per household (two people max) and is valid for admission to one museum only.
