Q: Will the streets under the freeway be closed as well? Carlos Vasquez, Sacramento

A: Yes, some will, and already have been, in fact. That includes 22th Street between W and X streets, where crews are staging equipment. But it appears that the main streets that carry the most traffic – notably 19th, 21st and 24th – will remain open all or almost all the time. Caltrans spokesman Dennis Keaton told us there is the possibility that crews may have to briefly close those streets, but if that were to happen, it’s likely that will occur nights or weekends, not when commute traffic is coming through.
