The state Department of Transportation reported at 12:30 p.m. that one-way traffic control was in effect near Kyburz as crews began work to remove the boulder. Both lanes were closed at 4:20 p.m. to allow the use of explosives. By 4:30 p.m. eastbound traffic was restored as clean up of the westbound obstruction continued.
