Firefighters continue to make progress on three north state wildland fires, allowing officials to lift all evacuations and major road closures.
The Eiler fire, 4 miles southeast of Burney in Shasta County, continues to burn through 31,772 acres in the Lassen National Forest. As of Thursday evening, it was 40 percent contained with full containment expected Aug. 20, said Jeff Fontana, a spokesman for the Susanville Interagency Fire Center.
The Bald fire is expected to be fully contained today after burning nearly 40,000 acres southeast of Fall River Mills.
The Day fire, northeast of Fall River Mills in Modoc County had burned 13,153 acres with full containment expected by Saturday.
Highways 89, 299 and 44 are open with no restrictions. U.S. Forest Service officials have closed the Pacific Crest Trail from Old Station at the junction of Highway 89 and 44, north to the forest boundary at Cassel Road. Trails within the Thousand Lakes Wilderness are also closed.
