A two-alarm fire that broke out in Elk Grove this afternoon displaced a family of two adults and three children, according to Cosumnes Fire Department officials.
The house fire in the 5200 block of Applehurst Way has been extinguished but left damages of $200,000 to $250,000, according to estimates of one of the commanders on scene, said Tracey Hansen, the department’s fire chief.
The alarms were called at 2:43 and 2:59 p.m. Six engines, four trucks, four commanders, and two ambulances were deployed.
After two searches, fire personnel found no one in the residence. There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
