Fire crews contain wine-country blaze in El Dorado County

Fire crews battling a 9.5-acre blaze near Mount Aukum in El Dorado County said it was fully contained, as of 4:15 pm. Monday.
The fire, near Hidden Springs and Apache roads, briefly chased four residents from their homes early Monday afternoon, according to Cal Fire Capt. Nathan Barcklay. No injuries were reported.
Barcklay said fire crews received the call just before 1 p.m., attacking the flames from the air and ground. In all, 30 firefighters responded to the blaze in El Dorado’s foothill wine country, where temperatures on Monday approached the 100-degree mark.
