Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials report that three people have been transported to the hospital after suffering injuries in a fire at a Sacramento Municipal Utility District fleet garage.
Crews responded to the fire in the 4400 block of Bradshaw Road, near Kiefer Boulevard, in the Rosemont area shortly before 5 p.m.
Capt. Brian Gonsalves, a fire district spokesman, said the fire initially was reported as a vehicle fire. He said the vehicle was a SMUD vehicle at the utility district’s fleet maintenance facility.
Three SMUD employees were transported to area hospitals with injuries. Gonsalves said he did not know the severity of the injuries.

The fire was largely confined to the vehicle, but the garage suffered smoke damage, Gonsalves said. The fire, which was brought under control within about 15 minutes, is under investigation.
