Chilly temperatures were experienced in the Sacramento region on Thursday morning in advance of weekend wet weather.
Clear skies allowed for much cooler temperatures in the Sacramento area, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS reported that temperatures were running anywhere from 5 to 15 degrees cooler than 24 hours earlier in Northern California.

A cold front from the Pacific Ocean is expected to move onto the coast Friday. Rain is likely to start Saturday morning in Sacramento.
