While Friday’s weather has dawned with a decided chill delivered with a bracing, brisk breeze, by Sunday the marathoners toeing the line in Folsom will have more pleasant conditions.
Gusts are expected to reach 20 mph on Friday in the Sacramento region as the area basks under sunny skies. The breezy conditions are doing a lot to remove remaining leaves from trees.
Sacramento’s early morning temperatures in the low-40s, combined with the windy conditions made for a chilly start to the day. However, by afternoon the temperature may be around 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
The north winds that have buffeted the area will mostly be gone on Saturday. The weather for Sunday, when the Sacramento International Marathon is held, looks good for runners: winds should be light, temperatures cool for great running and no rain.
