Another hot weekend ahead for the Sacramento area before a gradual cool down is expected over the coming week with moisture from tropical system Dolores expected to bring some rain to the area Sunday through Tuesday.
Highs this Saturday for the Sacramento area are forecast to remain in the low 90s, only a few degrees below Friday’s upper 90s highs, according to the National Weather Services.
Sunday temperatures are expected to reach the mid 90s before a steep drop throughout next week, forecasters said. By Thursday, highs are predicted to be in the 88 to 91 degree range.
Moisture from tropical system Dolores, which has grown closer to the west coast of northern California in the last few days, is expected to bring some showers mainly to the mountain areas between Sunday and Tuesday, according to forecasters.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. West southwest wind 6 to 15 mph becoming south in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph.
Monday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. South wind around 7 mph becoming west southwest in the morning.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.
