It’s cooler this morning as a healthy amount of ocean air blasts through the Carquinez Strait right to our front door.
The high today in Sacramento is expected to be a tolerable 79 degrees. A slight chance of sprinkles is predicted for this afternoon.
A strong Delta breeze was blowing before sunrise with gusts over 30 mph reported at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield. The winds extended two-thirds of the way up the Sacramento Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
Particulate matter from smoky wildland fires in Lake County and the Gold Country was less in the Sacramento region. However, the air was still unhealthy across areas to the north and east of Sacramento.
Never miss a local story.
Cool weather conditions were expected to continue through mid-week. A slight chance of rain is forecast for later in the week.
