If you have outdoor plans today, you’re in luck. Enjoy a perfect spring weekend in the Sacramento area with temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s and scattered clouds, according to the National Weather Service.
But if you’re headed to the Sierra, bring an umbrella.
“We have a system that could bring some showers over the mountains,” said meteorologist Idamis Del Valle of the NWS Sacramento station. “There might be some thunderstorms in the mountains, too. But in the valley? Nothing on the horizon right now.”
Those spring storms should blow over quickly in the Sierra and be gone by Sunday, she added.
Meanwhile, temperatures will start heading up quickly in the valley, Del Valle said. “By Monday, Sacramento will be in the mid- to upper 80s and Tuesday will definitely be in the low 90s. That’s 10 degrees above normal.”
Average for these dates in Sacramento is 81 degrees, she noted.
Overnight lows in Sacramento will hover in the mid-50s over the weekend before nudging into the low 60s by Tuesday night.
Are we already headed for summer weather? Not quite yet.
“We could have another (weather) system late next week,” Del Valle said. “It’s just a little too early to tell.”
