The recent run of up-and-down temperatures will continue this week, with daytime highs in Sacramento projected to top 90 degrees on Tuesday, but plunging nearly 20 degrees by Friday.
Today, north-northwest winds will build to around 10 to 15 miles per hour throughout the morning and early afternoon. Gusts could be as high as 21 mph in Sacramento, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS noted that the jet stream has moved down into Northern California, helping to drive unsettled weather across the nation as it moves east.
