A strong high pressure system is holding forth over Northern California, an atmospheric condition that is expected to produce 100-degree temperatures in the Sacramento region on Tuesday.
The high on Monday was 99 degrees in Sacramento. The maximum temperature Tuesday is forecast to reach 101 degrees.
Temperatures are predicted to bounce around from 94 degrees to just over the century mark for the next 7 days, according to the National Weather Service. The normal high in late June is around 90 degrees.
