Manny Ramirez is making his home debut for the River Cats tonight as he nears the end of his 50-game suspension after violating baseball's drug policies for a second time.

A light but steady stream of people climbed the concrete steps to the Raley Field ticket window over the course of an hour, a good number for the middle of a windy Wednesday afternoon.

Tuesday dawned with the A's hitting .216 as a team, the lowest mark in baseball. Then they rested several of their regulars against the Los Angeles Angels' $77.5 million left-hander, C.J. Wilson.
