Re "State leads in health sign-ups" (Page A1, Nov. 14): Sen. Barbara Boxer's comments were incredible regarding the number of people who have signed up so far for health insurance in the exchanges. For Boxer to describe the statistics as "good news" is ludicrous. In six weeks only 59,830 have signed up in California out of the 7 million uninsured, and nationally slightly more than 100,000 have signed up out of 48 million uninsured. It is unimaginable before you even take into consideration how much of our taxpayer dollars are being spent to set up these exchanges. The amount of people who have signed up in California hasn't even approached the number who were to have had their current health care plans cancelled due to the Affordable Care Act. For our legislative leaders to be spinning this as good news is beyond comprehension.
