Re "Mr. President, we remembered" (Page A1, Nov. 20): As a crowd of thousands gather to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address on Tuesday, one notable person was missing, President Obama. His decision to miss this event is surprising because he has so often tied himself to Lincoln, who also had ties to Illinois. In a time of political divisiveness one would think that this nonpartisan effort would have been treated with the respect that it so deserves.
