Re "Raising minimum wage would aid many without harming the economy" (Viewpoints, Paul Krugman, Dec. 2): I'm a senior at Oak Ridge High School. The school has a reputation of success, and many kids at the school can go anywhere they desire for college, due to their high grades and wealthy families. I will not have such an easy time. My parents are middle class, and my family doesn't qualify for financial aid. The only way I can afford an education is by going to community college and by saving money after working my hardest at my first-time job. But making minimum wage won't guarantee me the money I'll need for college.
