Re "Downtown arena won't snarl traffic, study says" (Page A1, Dec. 17): How could having an arena downtown be anything but the best for Sacramento? The arena will provide many years of nonstop sports excitement with the Sacramento Kings. Mayor Kevin Johnson says it will provide about 4,000 new prevailing-wage jobs to invigorate the city and region’s economy. The arena will also provide concert venues and anchor a new shopping area that Kings fans can check out before the games. Now, a study has further reduced potential concerns. The study finds the arena will not add traffic problems to downtown, and planners say that parking will be adequate for those attending the games or other events there.
