Re "San Juan Unified chief quits" (Page A1, Dec. 20): I've worked with former San Juan Unified School District Superintendent Glynn Thompson as a parent, and, as far as I'm concerned, the only crime he committed was trying to get something done in an intransigent bureaucracy. By stepping down he has also saved the district, and denied the plaintiffs' attorney, hundreds of thousands of dollars. That alone speaks to his character.
