Re “Loss of jobless checks smacks valley hard” (Editorials, Dec. 30): Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Elk Grove, was quoted as saying extending unemployment hurts the unemployed because it "reduces the incentive they have to get in the workforce." This is his usual hypocritical statement. McClintock collects a salary for doing absolutely nothing but voting "No" on anything and everything that come up before him. Since he has never had to rely on earning a living, it is hypocritical of him to make statements about people seeking employment and unemployment benefits.
