Re “Immigrants get full benefits” (Letters, Jan. 6): After graduating from high school, Sergio Garcia says he received offers from the University of California, Berkeley, and Stanford University, but could not attend because he did not have documents. He became a paralegal instead, and then went to California State University, Chico, and Cal Northern School of Law in Chico. He passed the state bar exam on the first try. Success can be measured in many ways, but countless individuals have proven that if you set your mind to something and work diligently, you can overcome obstacles and go on to great accomplishments. As an American and Californian, I am proud of Sergio Garcia. Anyone who disparages Garcia’s accomplishments should try solving one of the sample logic questions on the LSAT.
