Re “Do-nothing House sets up to sink to new low in 2014” (Editorials, Jan. 7): I disagree with the Sacramento Bee Editorial Board’s accusation of the House of Representatives as having a "do-nothing" policy and planning more of the same for the rest of this year. I remember Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid saying that bills originating from the House were dead on arrival throughout the past two years. If any elected group was a do-nothing body, it was the U.S. Senate directed by Reid and influenced by the White House. Accusations like those printed in the editorial are distortions that misdirect attention from the real issues. Those issues are not income inequality but the lack of jobs and the nation’s unsustainable debt.
