Headline on arena story too rosy

Re “Arena is a whale of a land deal” (Page A1, Jan. 11): The Bee is showing its pro-arena bias again. The article’s top headline reads "Kings property transfer could revive areas where downtown blight reigns." But the news reporting shows that the headline could just as easily have said, "Giveaway of public assets could kill downtown." Without a strong public benefit agreement and much firmer enforcement commitments by the developers, the area around the downtown arena is likely to look like the blocks of empty land around Los Angeles’ Staples Center, which Angelinos call the "blast zone."
