Re "Classical music gets a break, not a cure" (Our Region, Feb. 2): While this article was on the Our Region section, The Bee's front page showed a glowing image of the proposed downtown arena.

I'm a basketball fan and a performing arts fan. How wonderful for Sacramento, if both could be sustained and supported.

Kudos to the Kings for their community endeavors. When I attend a Sacramento Philharmonic performance, I would love to open my program and see the Sacramento Kings listed as a donor and supporter.

My dear friend plays violin in the orchestra and I would like to hear her share enthusiasm and joy of a brighter future for the performing arts.

May the Kings cowbells join the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra in a symphony of sports and music that can both enrich our greater community.
