Re "Traffic Solution sought for Arena" (Page A1, Feb. 3): The city of Sacramento promises $258 million for a new downtown arena, and Kings give $500,000 to streetcars.

Such a deal.

The city would be getting a $1 rebate for every $516 given. And if streetcar line is not built, the city would build a road through the American River Parkway to ease the commute of Kings fans.

Thanks for looking out for the interests of taxpayers through tough negotiating.
