California lags world in high speed rail

Has anyone else noticed that Amtrak's Acela Express recorded an operating surplus of 54 percent, revenue exceeding costs, in 2012? Almost all of the slow trains run at a deficit.

A recent web-surfing survey showed 24 nations currently operating high speed rail including Uzbekistan. California is a very slow learner: We left the pioneering to advanced nations, like China, Japan, and France.
