Rufner uses wealth to hijack political process

Re "Tomato-paste mogul helps bankroll area subsidy fight" (Page (A1, Feb. 9): The article regarding Chris Rufner and his political agenda should be alarming to Sacramentans and Americans.
His political actions represent everything wrong with our democracy today. It comical to label him a libertarian. He is more aptly called a plutocrat, whose main power is derived from wealth.
Do people actually believe Rufner's business has never received a subsidy or a tax break? Subsidies aren't the problem. Mass concentrations of wealth used to hijack the political process are the problem.
