Re "Tomato-paste mogul bankroll arena subsidy fight" (Page A1, Feb. 9): Please, any of the opponents of the proposed arena, tell us what the area from 4th and K Street to 9th and K Street will look like in five years if the arena is not built.
Currently, store fronts are boarded up on half of the retail addresses. What is your vision? There are no redevelopment funds available. What do you foresee? Some white knight appearing with unlimited funds to revitalize the entire area? Just give us your description of what it will look like five years from now.
Lets also make a pact. Sacramento taxpayers don't interfere with proposals in Winters and Winters residents mind their own business when it comes to proposals being paid for by Sacramento taxpayers.
Don't give us that old song about not being against the arena you just think people should vote on it.
