Re "Obama's first visit Valley a lost opportunity" (Editorials, Feb. 15): Does any Californian believe President Barack Obama really cares about this state, beyond than the money it supplies for campaigns, and the golf?

With his green technology beliefs, why did he not offer federal funds for large coastal cities to install desalination plants from the Pacific Ocean like other countries? That would provide endless water for cities that suck water out of the North.

Wake up California. You used to be a golden state, one of the largest economies in the world, and you are soon to be a desert if ignore obvious solutions.
