Solar power is a problem

Re "Solar power blooms in desert" (Sunday Business, Feb. 16): The thought of thousands of solar panels besmirching our countryside and killing birds is galling.

It is comparable to the wind turbines which have destroyed the beauty of the Altamont Pass, and killed numerous birds each year.

When is this country going to arrive at an energy policy that is not driven by some special interest group?
