Re "Fashion Week offers city's casual culture a makeover" (Our Region, Feb.22): I thought a message was eliminated from the article. Although the Fashion Week team's mission is to highlight talented up-and-coming fashion designers, the beauty of the event lies in the talent of the hundreds of volunteers. The training that the interns receive in event planning, media outreach and development is a benefit to our community. Everyone needs to start somewhere and this is hands-on training. Additionally, the money received from the event is used to promote the mission of the Junior League, a 70-year-old volunteer organization which is creating leaders and building a better community. Our volunteers are making over Sacramento for the better.
