Lawsuits provide no justice for taxpayers

Re "Nevada busing ruling ignore reality" (Dan Morain Feb. 23): Nevada should fix its patient dumping problem, but lawsuits aren't the solution.

Need $30,000? Get pepper-sprayed. Harassed by a school official? Sue. Two months to live? Sue the neurosurgeon for trying something novel. Beaten by a cop while high on speed? Sue.

Tax money provided to operate schools, police departments, etc., instead goes to enrich a few lawyers, and plaintiffs. It nauseates me to think my hard- earned dollars are being frittered away so thoughtlessly. Where is the justice?
