Perjury is a nit-picky crime anyway

Re "Political theater can be good for the soul" (Editorials, Feb. 28): Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg was astute to send the bill to expel Sen. Rod Wright to committee to die. The Legislature's approval rating is so low it really doesn't matter if it drops a few more points.
Plus, expelling a legislator for a perjury conviction sets a dangerous precedent for those who haven't been convicted yet.
