Re "Gun control won't curb killings" (Letters, Feb. 28): George Alger's letter was a rebuttal to "Another View" by Griffin Dix and Dallas Stout who cited gun law successes.

The rebuttal cited one statistic with no documentation to shoot down a well-documented article by Dix and Stout. I am a long-time supporter of the Brady Campaign, and strongly believe that strict gun control laws, as long as they are constitutionally correct, are highly beneficial in reducing gun deaths.

I also support a federal universal background check law to slow the cross-border flow of guns from states having lax gun-control laws such as Arizona.
