Re "Candidate surveys should not stay secret" (Viewpoints, March 9): Assembly candidate Steve Glazer described the corrupting candidate questionnaires.
Let's simply require that they be labelled truthfully. The questionnaire title should read "Terms and Conditions for You (Candidate's name here) Being Bribed by Us (Organization's name here).
These questionnaires are basically the initial contract for legalized bribery which politicians feel they must sign in order to get the money it takes to win an election.
America isn't yet the most corrupt country, but if we continue funding our elections the way we do and keep politicians beholden to big money interests, America can be No. 1. Or we can join the effort to fix the problem with groups like Wolf-Pac and Represent.us.
