Re "Words don't shoot bullets: (Letters, March 8): Allow me my rebuttal: I've never heard of a collection of words, whether verbal or written, doing direct physical harm to anyone or anything in the same lethal destructive way that a bullet that's been discharged from a firearm does.

For words to do damage, people have to react to them. That's not the case with a fired bullet.
