Re "Science of Climate Change" (Letters, March 15): Climate change is a pseudo-science and has developed into an industry in which adherents profit by receiving government grants to study and manipulate data to promote their nefarious scheme.

The oceans have an infinite capacity to absorb carbon dioxide, an alleged greenhouse gas. The absorbed gas lends itself to increased seashell production like that seen in the White Cliffs of Dover.

Dr. William Ewing, an American geologist, proposed that after a period of warming, the planet enters a period of cooling followed by an ice age. That results from a complete melting of Arctic ice, which has not happened.

It is folly to think man can control climate through restricting coal-fired power stations and eliminating coal mining or pipelines and fracking. So-called fossil fuels resulted from hydroforming methane into the complex hydrocarbons. Coal was formed from decaying forests under extreme heat and pressure.
