Re "CHP looks into Bay Bridge welding" (Page A1, March 15): Here's the root of the problem we are seeing. From Wikipeda: Bureaucracy, a body of non-elective government officials and-or an administrative policy-making group. This bureaucracy is allowed to make rules and hold political power and is doing so behind closed doors and around our elected representatives.
We are a republic in which power is held by the people and the representatives we elect. Agencies, boards and commissions have been allowed to make rules and hold political power and are doing so behind closed doors, and we are now paying the price for the lack of oversight.
