Re "State chases out of business" (Letters, March 16): The letter writer is incorrect if he thinks California chases businesses out of the state. What is prompting Tesla to build the factory in others states is the giving of taxpayers' money to Tesla in the form of tax credits and tax incentives. In essence, giving tax dollars to the rich to make them richer. If that's what he is advocating, then I suggest he move to one of those states and happily give his tax dollars to these companies. As Christopher Thornberg of Beacon Economics suggests, tax credits are a waste of taxpayer funds and should end.
