Re "Violence isn't a health issue" (Letters, March 21): John Paul says in his letter that gun violence and traffic accidents are not a health issue. Really? So you could say a person is in perfect health, except for having a bullet in his brain or major organ damage?

I guess you cannot take these victims to a hospital or a doctor either because their injuries are not a health issue. Take them to a gun or auto repair shop, I guess.

John is onto something when he talks about the speed limit for autos. But we do not need to lower the speed limit, just enforce the existing speed limit properly so that no one will speed. There exists technology to do that.

And common sense gun control to reduce the flow of guns to criminals is also a good idea. Both would improve the health of a lot of people.
