Re "Man suspected in fatal 2004 shooting arrested" (, March 15): I am the mother of Kurt Levias, and I appreciate you putting this article on

The Denver Post reported there was a fight because of gang signs being thrown, but that was not true. My son died protecting his older sister from a man punching her in the face, and my son was simply looking out for his sister. I have fought for 10 years seeking justice, even had it aired on "America's Most Wanted," and I thank God, myself, Kurt's eight siblings and his very close aunt who held him as he took his last breath can finally have closure.

Again, thank you so much. L.K., as we fondly called him, can now rest in peace.

-- Sherri Landrum, Denver, Colo.
