Normally I am an informed person concerning Obamacare as I have been a dedicated supporter for health care reform. Recently, I have received a great shock to find that what I thought was an inroads to single payer health care for California is really a loan program for those ages 55-64 with repayment for health care recouped from assets upon death. I have just been made aware of this upon receiving a notice from Medi-Cal three months after we have been enrolled.

My husband and I, ages 60 and 63, have just finished paying for our home and we are now at risk, as Medi-Cal enrollees, of forfeiting our estate, leaving nothing to our adult children.

Surely this was not the intent of the Affordable Care Act. Please urge your representatives to eliminate the Medi-Cal Estate Recovery Program.
