Re "In Iowa, Ryan says budget a step toward GOP unity" (April 11): Paul Ryan's budget will be devastating to many Californians. While over 45,000 millionaires would get an $87,000 tax break, middle class families would pay $2,000 more in taxes.
358,000 seniors would pay more for medicine by bringing back the prescription drug donut hole, and Medicare benefits would be cut.
51,000 college students would not receive Pell grants.
1,300 domestic violence victims would lose access to the Stop Violence Against Women Program.
Finally, 21,000 children would lose access to Head Start.
If you do not want to live in a country that deprives seniors, college students, children and domestic violence victims of the chance for a better life, please support congressional candidates who oppose this ruthless budget.
