Re "Brown makes TIME's list, with blurb by Gray Davis" (The Buzz, April 25): Making the Time magazine list of 100 most influential people alongside Gov. Jerry Brown were 'Green Heroes' Tom Steyer and evangelical climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe. Actor Don Cheadle aptly wrote about Hayhoe: "It's hard to be a good steward of the planet if you don't accept the hard science behind what's harming it, and it can be just as hard to take action to protect our world if you don't love it as the rare gift it is." These influential leaders have been doing critically important work to make people aware of the dangers posed by human-caused climate change and the importance of immediately addressing them. We need more climate leaders like Hayhoe and Steyer, and we also need to back them up with grassroots support. That's exactly what the group Citizens Climate lobby and its Sacramento chapter are trying to do. -- Dana Nuccitelli, West Sacramento
